In the long run I want to be a pilot . I am 19 now and i got offered aviation systems in Carlow in the Cao. What I am wondering is it a good Idea to do this course to fall back on if a pilot doesn't work out for me ?

    Thanks

Hi. There was a big debate along these lines in the Aer Lingus Cadet thread over the last week. To be honest if you don't have the money to go and do a ppl/atpl/cpl right now then you're better off going to college. At least the course you've chosen is in the right industry! Although it is geared towards engineering. Have you done any flying at all?

Well then I think that's your best course of action. I presume you couldn't apply for the current Aer Lingus Cadetship because you had no LC results. Keep getting the hours under your belt as and when you can and hopefully a new Cadetship will come along and they'll see the work you've been doing to achieve your goal and give you the opportunity!
