First years should be starting on the 12th of September.

From what I know, their is a open day for societies on the 11th(the Sunday) to show off all the different societies in NUIG.

I am unsure if freshers week is freshers fortnight this year(like it was the last few years) But the NUIG Student Union usually organises it (http://www.su.nuigalway.ie/)

but you should be getting information about it shortly. I think the new SU president lurks around here sometimes.

    Edit: For you Ficheall!

This is a different then socs day, this is for first years only, and the societies try and host some sort of event to show them what the society is about. Like they get a spot in for 1-2 hours doing some sort of event and people interested can go to see it.

NUIG sent me a letter and a booklet thingy telling me about orientation (sat 10th and sun 11th sept) and that classes are from the 12th. I think fresher's week is from the 10th to the 23rd but i could be wrong!

Thats a mad day, headless chickens going around everywhere. It takes a few weeks for it to calm down abit (and numbers to dwindle) and pretty soon its xmas again.....!!
