do laptops use much electricity

    does anyone know do you use much electricity by leaving your laptop plugged in but in sleep mode?? also would it use more leaving your laptop on or leaving a light on??

    Depends on the laptop, but i would guess that the stand-by current to keep the PSU powered up would be more than the laptop would take. It also depends on the laptop/PSU, as i think some might be energy start compliant (eg 25mW from memory).

    Yes it would definitely use more power if your laptop was on and not in sleep mode.

    It would depend on the "light", are you talking about a 60W blub? if so yes a blub would typically use more power than your laptop. but it all depends :confused:
