I just fed the dog there, janey mac, that Pedigree Chum smells decent. So have you ever tasted it? What about catfood? With the list of ingredients on some of them they seem like gourmet treats.

If by extension you mean Tesco Value tinned beef, then yes. Yes I have.

I tried some of the chewy stuff before, it was pretty bad.

That said, after a night out, having found out there's nothing fryable in the fridge, that meaty meaty smell of the wet food is pretty appetising. I'd never try it though.

There was a dog food called Chum when i was growing up. It looked and smelt vile. I didn't dare try and taste it.

I suppose some of the more expensive brands may be decent :p

The dog loves Pedigree Chum but I think she prefers tuna out of a tin. So maybe it doesn't taste as good as tuna.

    Just eat it.

Your breath will smell a bit but won't die and you can buy some food when your grant comes in next week.

I have a theory about this.

My theory is Skinner eats dog food.

I used to work down the road from Merops in Walkinstown... If you smelled that place trust me you would never even consider eating dog food!!!

Tried "Flavoured" dog biscuits before, becuase myself and a few mates were curious how the dog would know the difference between beef / chicken / lamb / plain.

We all agreed they tasted the same, pretty dam tasteless to be honest.

Haven't tried the tinned stuff. Not looking for a shiney coat of hair :pac:

I have also partaken in trying dog biscuits. They were terrible. I always wanted to invite my mates over one night for dinner and cook a sheperds pie made out of pedigree chum !! I will probably do this the night before I head away for te year !!

A fella came in to my house and saw a bag of chocolate buttons and started eating them, never asked just started eating them, I waited till he had the whole bag eaten to tell him they were the dogs treats, he wondered why they tasted funny.

"Well, crying isn't gonna bring him back ... unless your tears smell like dog food. So you can either sit there crying and eating can after can of dog food until your tears smell enough like dog food to make your dog come back or you can go out there and find your dog."

The smell of it is rank. And cat food is worse.

Always reminds of the smell of a puppys breath when it has worms. That funny sort of sweet, dog foody smell. Ugghhhhh. Dr Bob time. :D

A mate of mine, down on his luck ate a tin of dog food for a tenner - prior to the eating, he went to the supermarket and bought the cheapest one he could find.

Except he only ate 2/3rds of the tin so he didn't get the tenner.

AND he had to pay for the dogfood.

Was at a house party before where some guy everybody was fighting with went into the kitchen and came back 5 minutes later with a plate of dog food sandwich's. Needless to say they went untouched.

Do you know what goes in dog's food (even so called decent one)?

    http://www.naturalnews.com/012647.html

Thats why I am not going to spend 60eu on 12 kg bag and I feed my dog with chicken MEAT with rise, bread, fish (tinned and frozen) and cottage cheese. He looks way better and more healthy the other dogs.
