Gear box

    My husband was heading off in our galaxy this morning & the car wouldn't go into reverse or any other gear except for 2nd. He had to push the car back down the estate as it wouldn't reverse. Is the gear box fooked??
    We only have it since July but it's a 00? Dint fancy forking out for a new gear box..

    Did the gear stick feel all loose? The gear selector cables in these give trouble not so much the gearbox.

    Thanks for your reply,I havnt a clue to be honest,I havnt been talking to him but selector cables sound slot better then a new gear box
