Going into second year and just wondering what the story is with this, surely we are not meant to join them during freshers week?

You are indeed. Clubs/societies won't have a problem with you signing up during the first couple of weeks though. Who'd want to miss Fresher's Week if they can help it?

Yeah, you go during Freshers Week to sign up. I go to Freshers Week every year, mainly for the free stuff :P

Actually we really encourage members to rejoin during Fresher's Week, as it keeps our membership figures up and we can tell them about our events for the term.
