I had always been of the opinion that octane boosters and the like were a complete gimmick, well,it turns out this stuff actually works.
6hp gain with runs done within a few minutes of each other using this stuff

It's worth noting that the 210.3 was peak figure, there was no more power coming after that run (5th) N/A cars always take a few runs to hit the peak number. The CVL was put into the tank and the car was brought through the gears then ran again, first run with the CVL made 215, it then peaked at 216.3

Glad we converted you dude! :pac:

What about dipetane in a diesel ?

Don't supposed you guys have tested the power outputs/emissions with and without this ?

Diesel is the fuel of the devil and we worship at the Church of VTEC :pac:

Used that stuff quiet a bit in my impreza rallycar before I got her mapped for rally fuel. Not bad stuff to be fair, a log better than some of the other s hit e doing the rounds. Millers or Proboost were my preferred additive on my NA rallycars (ka & 306 gti6) and as both cars were mapped correctly for it the both went very well.

Won't do much for your average punto, yaris , starlet or whatever the chicken chasers weapon of choice is these days :)

That's because it was Dyno'd by Urban Per4mance ;), poor aul Joe made one mistake and his being vilified lol

Intake temps while flat out should be in or around the same as ambient temp

Sorry I was half taking the piss out of Joe because he was reading this thread :)

He was logging temps, checking the intake temps of the car as he had an inkling it was running a little warm which sometimes happens in those GTI's due to cracked airboxes. When he was doing pulls on the dyno he hadn't removed the temp probe from the engine bay. A 20 degree increase in temp can give a serious increase in the final number.

It's not how we operate and in fact we are actually known as the only company that give 'real' dyno figures. If you look at any dyno sheet from our dyno you'll not see any temp fiddling
Gary did you ask the boys about the dipetane ?

I didn't think of it, I will do tomorrow, if I don't come to you by lunchtime drop me a PM

Surely if there are significant advantages and no disadvantages to fuel additives and they are suitable for all cars - why hasn't an oil company introduced a fuel with additives that have noticeable benefits? From a business case fuel is a more or less homogenous good with little product differentiation and having a USP would help sales?
