    Hi

I have a friend who is going to Crumlin College this year to do a course, I'm just wondering is there free parking available in or around the College itself or close by?

    Thanks

    Their website says

We are located on Crumlin Road, Dublin 12. It is a three minute walk from the shopping centre, if you wish to park there. There is no parking in the college but plenty of free parking in the surrounding streets.

    Hi Spurious

Sorry, I was very tired writing that post last night and I actually didn't even finish it!!!!!

What I should have added was that I looked at the website alright and I got that information. But from driving through Crumlin myself a few times, I'm struggling to think of what they mean by free parking on the streets, is it not pay and display like the rest of Dublin, or are they talking about the housing estates surrounding the college? Would the residents of those areas not be bothered by that as those streets seem narrow enough and the residents themselves must use them as their driveways are not big enough for cars.

Also, the shopping centre they mention, presumably the sc doesn't mind if students park there even though they are not shopping? He's not going to come back to find his car clamped for the privilege? If not, then that's obviously not free either?

I don't live too far from Crumlin myself so if I get a chance to pop down to see for myself I will, but was hoping maybe someone would know and they could save me a trip?

    Thanks

The SC has a lot of spaces, they don't clamp either. There's a road at the side of school, you can park on the sidewalk but the SC is a better option.
