As in the title, my wipers are no longer doing the job they should be and I think it's finally time to replace them both front and back. I want a set that will be as cheap as possible yet effective.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

dont buy them at halfords anyway unless you want to get ripped off.

Any motorfactors will do them, get a good set of Bosch ones

Surprisingly Tesco flat blade wipers are really good.

The best ones I reckon are piaa silicone ones. I think camskill have them.

Before I drove to Cornwall last year, I got a set of Bosch wipers for the Allroad in Halfords. They cost close to €60 and weren't right from the start. They juddered and smeared the windscreen. Unfortunately we got plenty of rain.

I couldn't find the receipt so didn't bring them back. I was up in Belfast last September and got a set of genuine Audi wipers in Agnew's for €40. They were a huge improvement and are still on the car. The same set from a Southern dealer would be €60 at least. No suprise there.

I agree for the love of god don't go near Halfords. Cleans on the way up but smears on the way down. And the juddering. Pure sh*te.

I went to Tesco today to see if they have any of those wipers, being the cheap bastard that I am. Unfortunately they seem to have discontinued their car products in my store.

The bigger Tescos should have them (maynooth, clarehall, naas, coonagh in limerick etc.)

We buy Valeo wipers in bulk from Ashgrove Interparts, they clean the screen well and seem to be quite durable. They are a cheap trade price so over the counter retail price should be fairly reasonable. Ashgrove have branches in Naas and Bray if that is any use to you.

Don't they have a place on Kill Avenue (Dun Laoghaire) as well?

Might take a trip up if so.

Yeah their head office is there. I presume that is a branch also, I've never been there though.
