im living just outside monaghan town and have the monaghan mux on ch55 no problem, i also have ch47 from longford which is were the antenna is pointing too, but im getting ch53 full signal also, considering my antenna is horizontal could this be sligo? or would it be clermount?

RTE's map has areas in the Newbliss/Threemilehouse area with Truskmore as the favoured transmitter (& more to come end 2012), must be a decent signal.

Obviously difficult terrain if locations so close to Monaghan tx are advised to use one in Sligo instead.

. . . but it doesn't distinguish between Truskmore & Clermont as they both use the same colour.

Position the 'X' exactly on your location and 'Process' ..... should give you the recommended transmitter.

OP was wondering where he was receiving signal on channel 53 from, as it is used by Clermont Carn & Truskmore.

I suppose pointing the correct aerial at each with the correct polarisation would give some idea of the relative strength of each at his location.
Clermont will seemingly be a lot stronger in Monaghan after ASO & some areas already have Truskmore as the recommended tx.

My guess is that the OP is picking up Truskmore on Ch53. With the temporary DTT antenna at Clermont Carn, pointing to the SSW, the signal to the west is not so strong. I think Truskmore is using the permanent DTT antenna after the mast replacement but from experience of that part of Monaghan, people widely use Cairn Hill and Truskmore for reception anyway.
