Sellers on Done Deal NOT displaying prices

I am so fed up of items for sale on Done Deal that do not have a specified price.
I, for example frequently look on done deal for lambs and breeding ewes. Ya sure they have some nice photographs and information but PRICE NOT SPECIFIED!!!

This is very annoying as i have to ring up and find out the asking price. Realise its way out of my range and then have to spend 10 mins making small talk about the sheep etc.

If people want to sell something why don't they post their asking price aswell

the people who dont put in a price are day dreamers , just chancing their arm and a waste of their 3 euro insertion fee imo

Have used donedeal once or twice, and have both specified price and not specified price. To be honest, my experience is that even when you specify the price, you still get people ringing up with the "would you take half of what you ask" :D

my husband advertises his haulage work on it, the amount of people that want the work done for nothing is unreal, do people actually know the price of diesel these days... then you get the fool who rings at 12 o clock at night or last week a guy rang at 5am  even when you put in no time wasters , you get them - they obviously cant read ;)

It's only good business sense to try and get the best deal possible.

Just stick phone on silent. Better still, have a separate one for work. Leave in the lorry or in 'the office'.

people chancing their arm making a crap offer. If adds with no time wasters makes you mad, try answering calls of people offering you half the price you advertised!

How could answering a phone call waste your time  What I would call a time waster is someone that comes to see what you have for sale which they say they will buy and they will come back next week with the money. While you are waiting for them you get plenty other calls that you turn down as you have a buyer but you never again see the buyer. A lot of stuff on donedeal is overpriced as well ;) Nobody wants to deal with a time waster but do they honestly think that putting no time wasters on an ad is going to eliminate them?

Loaded up the van, drove for over an hour, rang the guy when i got there...."il be there in 10 mins, what colour van? my bettery is going to die" gave him the info and never heard from him again. left his phone off for a few days after that. w@nker of the highest degree

My biggest gripe is these "sellers" who will not answer a PRIVATE NUMBER. Have had a fair few of these lads....ring them on the unlisted house phone you get no reply but a few seconds later they will answer you if you ring on a mobile. Are these lads into crime and what are they trying to hide. Donedeal should not allow them print such rubbish.

my gripe is stuff that is not really" for sale ". too much stuff is on 5 or 6 times with no change in the asking price.if somebody isnt giving what you ask its not worth it

wouldn't fault a lad for not answering private numbers. I don't answer private numbers myself . I often got caught by marketing companys doing research calls and keeping you talking ****e for 20 mins. They always ring on private numbers.

Have to agree with ya there 20 most of the time private numbers are either someone looking for money that ya dont even owe in the first place (marketing companys, banks or the local co op mineral lick supplier etc) or else one of these prank calls like from a representetive from microsoft to fix your computer that isnt even broken, the way i look at if its important enough they will leave a message, and there is rarely a message left;). Whats wrong with whats written on an ad anyway of your not happy with the ad just dont reply to it.

Always try and avoid answering private numbers. If you dont want me to know who you are, I dont want to know who you are.

sounds to me like you are your own timewaister no deposit = no sale so next in line with cash is the buyer..

I would consider anyone looking for a deposit a dodge. Even last time I gave a guy a few thousand of a deposit he disappeared with the animals and sold them somewhere else while "holding" onto my deposit for a considerable time. If you dont have a word you have nothing

I won't answer private numbers and I don't have a voicemail. I'll answer anyone who rings other than that if I can. Private numbers are fast becoming the preserve of the very dodgy and no good comes of answering them. In fact from day one my current phone simply rejected all private numbers and I've never even tried to find out how to change it.

The way I look at it DD isn't the mart, you don't stick cattle up with no price with the hopes some sap will pay over the odds for them, that's just wasting everyone's time.
From the few times we've sold through DD lads ringing with private numbers are going to offer stupid money in the hopes you are stuck for cash and they'll get a jump at you.

I find if your stock are in good order and fairly priced you'll attract decent buyers.

If i am buying anything i wont ring if there is no price up. In fact i set filter up for price and put a minimum price up to get rid of the ad's with no price.

And selling, I have never sold anything to someone who rang up using private number. What do people worry about hiding there number when ringing up someone who has an ad. Do you think i am going to get the CIA to trace your number and then i am going to hunt you down and kill you and your family in your sleep cause you didn't offer enough.

OH answers private numbers with an Indian accent, which confuses marketing companies!

That Indian wunker, rang the house last week. Big spiel about the fact that I needed to update my Microsoft software.

Asked me to turn on the computer and he would lead me through all the necessary steps to get it sorted.
So I played along with him for nearly 20 minutes, tapping the kitchen table with my fingers to make the impression of tapping a keyboard.

This guy was getting fierce frustrated, as I kept acting stupid, and asking ridiculous questions.

At the half hour mark or so, I said to him,
"Hey boss, sorry for your troubles, but I don't even own a computer, never mind have problems with one".

Long pause on his side. Then he hangs up!!!' -;)

My (B of I) manager told me that their system is specifically set up to display a fixed line number for the branch, because of the high frequency of non-answer/rejects they were getting when they weren't sending caller ID.

I don't blame anyone for putting up "No private numbers". What has a genuine caller got to hide?.

What bugs me is the ones that won't put in a price but specify "no time wasters" - so it's alright for them to waste my time ringing them up just to ask the most obvious question

Even worse are the "POA" s who expect me to drive across the country just to find out the price

The simple solution - as others have pointed out - just don't ring them. There's plenty more tractors, cars, hens, whatever with prices listed

Had a machine on the auto trader a few years ago "before done deal took off" they put the wrong picture up with it "a new looking digger" but with my add under neath at E15K asking price phone rang for days was fuc@ing plagued. So got all sorted for the following week and over a week or so lad came we agreed a price and sold it. Then about a couple weeks later a pri#k "TEXTS" me saying i had a machine for sale and for me to ring him, so i texted back to him saying if he could n afford a phone call he could n afford anything else, he then rings me and fuc#ed me into knots and told me he would find me and kill me............ still laughing at it today
