    Hey guys

Ive recently seen some stuff on the internet regaring Hydrogen Peroxide (H202)

Apparently its great for killing germs and it has many uses, 1 of which is for your mouth if you are using a 3 percent strength solution

im wondering if anyone uses it?

ive read you can use it as a mouthwash and it will not only kill off some nasty bacteria but it will also whiten your teeth over a few weeks

you can use it to clean your toothbursh before you brush your teeth and it will remove any nasty germs,it seems to be a little miracle liquid that has so many uses in various concentrations..

Im a little concerned regarding people who have fillings and using it as a mouthwash, does it have any bad effects on the fillings, can it damage them, make them fall out of your mouth or anything of this nature?

Hydrogen Peroxide can be used as a mouthwash it used to be Called Bocasan or Amosan Oral B made it, however its been withdrawn for the last 4 years. Getting H2o2 yourself is dangerous as its is very caustic in the wrong concentration.

whitening Bleach does indeed use hydrogen peroxide of other peroxides to generate free oxygen however mouthwash with h2o2 wont whiten your teeth as it needs to be held against the teeth and buffered to prevent nasty burns.

Dont try making you own mouthwash or bleach if thats what your getting at, you will burn the gums off yourself.

The answer to your question OP is - depends on who's putting it there. Putting it in yourself without instruction from a dentist or relying on some dolly bird in a beautician's is madness. Leave it to the experts.

Girl I know began using hydrogen peroxide to treat terrible mouth ulcers and then discovered it was excellent for whitening teeth. She says she puts a few drops of it into a glass of water, dips her toothbrush in and brushes her teeth with it. I was always curious but too frightened to try :)

i have been using it as a mouthwash mayb 3 to 4 times a week,i only swish it around for 2 mins then spit it out.. not noticing whitening,i guess i dont hold it for long enough in the mouth for it to whiten the teeth..

i also pour some into a glass with some water once a week and soak my toothbrush in it for 10 mins to kill any germs, always have a bottle of it handy, very expensive in the pharmacies in ireland though,i managed to get a big 1 liter bottle of it in america for 1 dollar, but here im payin 4 euro for a small little bottle mayb 7 times smaller than the liter
