Where to find beetles?

Hi, I live in clare, and I was wondering, where can I find beetles around the area? As in where would I need to look and so forth. And I am looking for beetles that are related to the stag beetles, such as the rugnose stag beetle, which I hear lived in ireland. So, do you know where I can find one? if not this one, where…

In grass, hedges, trees, under rocks, in soil, in streams. They're the most diverse group of animals so you'll get them nearly everywhere except the sea (I think). Do you need them to be living beetles? If not you could sink a pitfall trap with water and a little soap, check on it every day and see what you get.
