The following link is to an Irish Times report where senior counsel Feargal Kavanagh has proposed forming an alliance to oppose the 10% cut in legal aid fees where the prosecution fees remain unaffected.

Will this have any effect on legal advisor's decisions to take a case?

I can't imagine any barrister or solicitor will refuse to work over the cuts. If they do, someone else will just take their work.

EDIT: It all smacks of the senior barristers (SCs and senior juniors) hoping the junior barristers (BLs, especially very junior BLs) will toe the line and go on strike. Essentially, they want the young barristers to take a massive risk in order to keep those at the top in the lifestyle to which they have become accustomed.
