Folks ive a Medion Akoya E6210 laptop. Its about 2 and abit years old.I only use it for Internet, Movies, Football manager and Mircosoft office.

Recently ive started to have a few problems with it.Some one pulled the power supply connection from the laptop one day rather quickly, and i think it damaged the inside of the computer. Now some times when you move it, its knocks itself off.

Also my Battery is dead in the thing so i need a new Battery.

And lastly the Laptop seems to be overheating.

Is there any where in Dublin where i can get all these faults fixed and How much do people reckon this work will cost, or would i be better buying a new Laptop.

If you replace the battery, it wont turn off when the cable is moved. It may be a loose connection inside thats causing it to stop charging/turn off when moved. You may need to get a new connector for the inside and solder it on.

The overheating could be due to fluff and other stuff around the fan which means it wont spin fast enough. Or could be a dodgy motor in the fan. Either way a good inspection is needed to see what the problem is.

All this you could do yourself if your any way technically minded, although the soldering if needed id leave to someone who knows what they are doing

Cheers Mate.I wouldnt have a clue whats in the inside of a laptop so i wouldnt touch it, in fear of ruining it or breaking it.

Could you recommend some where in dublin were i could at least get the soldering done? And what kind of price would we be talking about to get this fixed.

Well I know in Tipperary, Your looking around the 100 mark just for the soldering and another 20 if they have to replace DC jack.
The only good thing is that if the overheating problem is caused by "fluff" as the person above suggested they would also clean the laptop internally which would fix this.
The battery?? eBay.. they litterally snap slide in!

    Jack :D
