Camskill doing a special on these now. Fantastic tyre. They have uniroyals for a bit less too but the vredesteins worth the money. Check price delivered in shopping basket and allow a few quid for fitting

My advice is stay away from cheap Far East crap, they really are terrible especially in the wet when you need them most.

These Uniroyal Rain Sports are keenly priced on camskill but allow extra money to have them fitted locally. They have a good reputation for grip in the wet:

These are also very good and probably my choice, I have read elsewhere from a few BMW M3 owners who are very happy with them:

Edit: Colm beat me to them.

I have the Uniroyals for well over a year and a half and over 33k km and they've got noiser to the point that they're very annoying. They squirm too much when new as well as the thread depth is high. I wouldn't buy them again even though they wear well..

They're 118 each delivered (when you buy 2)
    Probably 128 fitted..

Probably the same price as buying crap in a lot of places.

Brands such as Triangle, Sunny, Wanli, etc. Absolutely rubbish and leathal in the wet.

Kumho would be my minimum. Anything you haven't heard of is likely to be crap.

Don't believe the old 'they're pirellis economy type' line either.

Part worn tyres might be worth a look too. There are two places in the industrial estate between Glasnevin and Finglas (on the left just after the cemetery) if you're in Dublin. Goodyear and such are about €70 a corner fitted (less for other sizes). All seem good, having a look about at the moment and both places have good tyres at what seems a reasonable price for what I’m after. Think there's a branch is Swords too.

    I use these:
    http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s312p6207/FALKEN_TYRES_CAR_FALKEN_FK452_FALKEN_FK_452_-_235_45R17_94Y_TL_

    I find them quite good.

    I have also had these:
    http://www.camskill.co.uk/m54b0s312p63899/KUMHO_TYRES_CAR_KUMHO_KU39_ECSTA_LE_SPORT_KUMHO_KU_39_-_235_45R17_97Y_XL_TL_

    and they were also decent.

I would also reccomend the Falken 912 but camskill don't have them in stock.

100 a tyre is pretty good, price a few tyres in your local place in your size and you'll go running back to camskill.

I found the sessantas as mentioned above to be stunning and certainly better than anything I can think of at their price. I would also say they beat the factory fit michelin pilot sport on my car in the wet and they would probably be over twice the price

After much searching for multiple reviews on multiple sites, I splashed out €120 each on Uniroyal Rainsport 2 from a local-ish bricks-n-mortar place. They were about €110 from Camskill, plus shipping, and not including fitting/balancing PLUS I also got €20 off a laser alignment while I was at it (€30 down from €50) :D

Tyretest.com have reviews from joe soaps well organised too for an at-a-glance comparison.

The Vredestein Sessantas come in better in the dry but worse in the wet.
Hankook Ventus V12...ditto, but much cheaper.
    Even Good Year Eagle F1...ditto.

My money went on the wet weather performance as the limits of dry adhesion are rarely reached by me, whereas in the wet, I like the extra assurance of good performance.
