    Ive repeats coming up on Wednesday and Im struggling with this subject. Any chance that I could get advice on how to pass this subject?

    Hope the exam went well. It's probably too late for any advice I can offer. But anyway, there's a couple of exam techniques that are particularly helpful in criminal:

    A. You usually can't go wrong by studying inchoate offences (ie conspiracy, attempt etc.) as you can use them in most problem questions.

    B. Problem questions usually score better than essay questions in criminal (if you use an answer plan and think the ans through).

    C. Try to avoid essay questions in criminal unless you have pre prepared an ans to a question that commonly comes up, even then e.g. mens rea questions that come up a lot are marked quite hard. Fringe essay subject such as infanticide etc are marked a little easier because less students attempt them.

    If you google certain bloggs and sites there are good free tips e.g. Www.lawmentors.co.uk or www.premierexamtechnques.ie or even a general google 'exam techniques' search can reveal some good info
