Do you mind if I ask what age are you..? Just out of interest. My girlfriend has taken up golf too, she really likes it and is going really well but she has noticed a distinct lack of younger women playing. I was thinking maybe that it was just something at our local club but after playing a few ladies&gents around the midland I'm starting to think the ladies under the age of 30 are a rare sight on a golf course.

hi no i dont mind at all, i'm 34. Yes a huge lack of younger females, such a pity.

fair play for having the confidence to go out on you're own.

Are you a member of a club yet? Most clubs have decent women clubs, I know my club is about 30% women with a good mix between young and old but not the late 20's early 30's etc. Most women seem to drop out at that stage.

Maybe you should start a women golf society on this site?

Why don't you come to the outing next week?

    hi M

great I stumbled across this thread.

I too am female, just taken up golf too....
have had 2 lessons... feel I better get the basics right before I head out!

But I'm about 15mins away and would love to brave it with you..

Nobody I know plays golf... and in the club they seem to be older... i'm mid 30's too.

I am thinking about joing in Jan as the local clubs joining fee is reduced..

Hey, I'm also in my mid thirties. I've been playing over a year. None of my friends play and I do find the ladies in the club seem to be much older.

I'd definitely be on for playing,

    Mags

and why not play in the new one that is here already? Societies are for mixed groups, no male / female specific. We got over that years ago!!

Very true, but sometimes women are shy and like to play in female only groups. Can't really blame them...lol

see you at the next outing so!!

Lots of clubs have ladies days - its a tuesday in moate. Ladies have priority on the tee etc. might be no harm see is there one in your local club. Would be a great way to meet other golfers.
