cleaning egr on focus

    what is the best way to do the above, do i take it out and clean or does one the cleaning sprays do as good a job?

    The egr valve is built into the inlet manifold. Ya can't take out the valve part of it only the actuator. The EGR valve is apart f the inlet manifold so it has to come off. Big enough job.

    It depends how bad it is, if it's fairly sooted up then chemistry might work (Wynns or competitor), but if it's properly blocked then you don't really want to wash all that crap through your cylinders.

    Bear in mind as well that your whole inlet manifold is probably just as choked up as your EGR, so if it's bad you might need to strip it all the way.

    My bad I was thinking of the new focus:rolleyes:

    It should be straight forward enough if its not completely blocked up. Remove the pipe that goes onto it and spray it in there.

    I knew there was a ford with the egr built into the manifold....:P
