    Hi folks,

I am going to Donegal on a weeks holidays and will need to do a bit of running as i'm training for the marathon.

Is there any running track in Donegal town? Or would anybody recommend a good place to go running, preferably grass as i'm trying to stay off the road as much as possible.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

beaches is what donegal does really well...if you don't mind running on (hard) sand then you could do worse than head to Rossnowlagh or Maghera or any of the many others.

If you are prepared to run on tarmac, the road to Port (near Glencolumcille) is empty and spectacular. There's also a very nice trail/hill run from Port up onto Glen Head and down into Glen (or back into Port).
