Megane 1.5dci- won't start

Hi lads, wondering if anyone can help me out with this- i bought a megane privately about 3 weeks ago and all was running fine until last Sunday when it wouldn't start- it was turning over but wouldn't kick. Apparently it was a faulty cam sensor (I think, there was no diesel getting to the engine).

I had it in with the mechanic for a few days before Sunday, it ran fine for about 3 days then that happened, he plugged in on Monday last and it drove fine, replaced the sensor on Tuesday and no problems until this morning when the same thing happened, it was turning over but it wouldn't start, and now the key card won't lock the door, it will unlock it fine, but I have to press the start/stop button again withthe card out of the slot to engage the wheel lock which usually happens when ya take the card out.

Anyone any ideas as to what might be up?

If your mechanic picked up cam/rpm sensor fault and has replaced the sensor
then it sounds like you have a chafed cable on the cam sensor feed supply..

Given your key card problems it may be an ignition/immobiler fault.

Did the mechanic check all system?

Ya he plugged in and ran diagnostics, I did wonder myself originally was it an immobilizer problem but nothing showed up. It just seems funny to me that the same problem is occurring after the cam sensor was replaced.
