JA Transfer/Reclaim

I made a claim for JA in Nutgrove, after a means test it was approved, however they realised immediately that they had taken it in error, and I was not under the jurisdiction of Nutgrove. They were very nice, as they should of noticed themselves earlier. Anyway she transferred the claim on the system to Dun Laoighre, and told me to go down in 3 days with ID and proof of address.

Anyway, I go down, explain the situation, and the lady asks me to fill a form for a reclaim. I think fair enough, fill itoutand hand it back to her. I ask her what happens now, and she says ill get a letter in a few weeks. I asked her how come it would be a few weeks because it was just a transfer, she says that they have to do a new claim cause its a different office.

So I guess that they need to approve the claim, which I can understand. What I dont understand is why it takes so long? Because obviously my circumstances are the same since 2 days ago, so can they not just do it once they get the claim from Nutgrove? I mean why would the lady in Nutgrove bother doing out the whole claim for me if it was going to basically take weeks anyway. She even said that she was doing it because 'otherwise you'll be waiting weeks'.

Has anyone had a similar experience? or can anyone shed any light on how long a transfer should take please?

Also one more thing, Im worried now that the weeks waiting in Nutgrove that should of been backdated may be cancelled/forgotten during the process,is this possible?

    Any help greatly appreciated
