I posted this over in Zoology but it's like a dead zoo over there.

A friend has a giant bug in her bathroom and she's really freaked. It's there since last night. She thought it was a child's toy but it moved and she's locked the door from the outside.

It's about the size of a tv remote control, like a magnified bug but it's body is dark grey and long and fat like a small bird with a shell and with 8-10 well formed legs coming out of it on each side. It looks like it has wings but it's upside down but still waving it's legs around. Hard shell like a giant beetle.

No photos are forthcoming as she's terrified and won't go back in there.

maybe if its more than and beginning to get noticed it can be looking more for its there, rather than being alone

I bet she has glasses, and it's a sock that moved with the draft of the door opening and closing really quickly.

What's the reason for being reasonable?

    Is that an unreasonable question?

Does it look like this? That's a ground beetle. Or this? This maybe?

Its as big as four cats and has a retractable leg as well so it can leap up at you better. It lights up at night.

Four ears, two for listening and two for back up. It has claws as big as cups. It's tail is made out of magnets and it has four arses too.

I was all ready to tell you it was a May bug / Cockchafer but after reading your detailed description I guess not.

So, OP, I gotta ask, haven't you been smoking peyote for six straight days and couldn't some of this maybe be in your mind?

It's called a ryan tubridy, you can lure it away by offering it paper money with the queen of englands head on it.

You are incorrect in your classification of your second picture there. That is not a true beetle, rather a mimic which hopes to capitalise on nostalgia and the concept of "retro cool".

Theres really no need to have two threads on this. And you can even embed huge, nightmare inducing pics in the Zoology forum.
