Hi everybody , I am in receipt of a family allowance for jobseekers allowance as my husband is out of work also , I sign for my family and he doesn't but I do receive payment for him . He applied for a course through blue brick /spring board and has got accepted we need to get a form signed to state he is eligible for the course as he is in receipt of a benefit .. We are planning on going in Monday to get the form
    Signed .. But I'm
Worried as he is a dependent adult on my claim he is classed as in receipt of a payment and will he be covered for the course ? Any info be great

No he would have to be in receipt of the payment in his own right to qualify.
From the FAQs on the Springboard site http://www.bluebrick.ie/springboard/Help_FAQ.aspx:
I am dependent on a partner who receives a Jobseeker's Allowance but I am not in receipt of this payment myself. Am I eligible to apply?
People who are not in receipt of one of the eligible allowances are not eligible to apply.

But the fact that I am receiving a full rate for him surely I he would be classed as unemplyed as we are all in the one family payment ? As I have read he would be entitled to the back to education allowance as a dependent adult surely this would apply for the spring board courses?

This thread is from 2011, eligibility may have changed since then.
