Buying a Nissan Interstar that has been parked up..

I went to view a Nissan Interstar this evening with a friend, its 05 and has been off the road for a few years, the price is right and it only has 30,000 miles on it. Its in very good condition all round and has no wear and tear on the seats / gearstick / wheel etc..

We took it for a spin and noticed the radio / clock wasn't working and that it was in limp mode (not revving past 2600rpm) We stopped and restarted the engine and it seemed to come out of limp mode ( would rev to 4000rpm but seemed to be electronically limited) The radio and clock still aren't working and they guy said he had to jump start it.

So i'm just wondering could there be a fuse gone because the fusebox was damp etc? And was the limp mode just a fluke due to being jumped etc?

I just know that my Dad had a Nissan Primastar and when it started going into limp mode it needed a boost sensor and camshaft sensor etc and became a bit of a money pit.

    Anyone have any opinions?

    Thanks

    A damp fuse-box!

Personally I'd run away. If the fusebox is damp, there is a possibility of other electronic components being damp and/or shorting out.

The van would want to be almost free for me to take it with them problems!
