Hi all looking for a bit of advice before I head back to dealers again.

Story is I have a 10 x1 18d x drive and it developed a clutch judder it developed over time since I first got so went back to a BMW near me and they reprogrammed the car and Judder disappeared for a couple of days.

This was back in March so when judder came back I went back to them and they replaced the clutch and said flywheel was fine. This again corrected the problem for about two months but the judder returned.

Due to issues with the dealer near me I bought the car back to the BMW dealership where I purchased the car to sort out an annoying rattle and I also mentioned the judder in the clutch.

They agreed there was a problem and this time replaced clutch and flywheel this was in at the start of June.

Problem now is judder is back so am well peed off at this stage what I'm looking for here is advice on the best way to proceed form here please.

    Thanks

common problem on the newer manual 18d and 20d engine.
BMW dealer can adjust the coding on the ECU to fix this, it allows more revs at tick over /take off to avoid the judder.

does it feel like your just about cut out when it happens?

heres what the dealer said to another forum memebr about the judder, so just call your dealer and ask about it :
Its an update of the ECU, will make the car self rev to 1250 revs untill clutch is either fully re-engaged or disengaged when taking off. It's not a recall because it's not a problem with every car.

Dealers know about it it worked for me also

Yeah the car feels and indeed can sometimes stop it feels as if it cant handle the power coming throgh in fact if i dont increace the revs taking off the car will stall AFAIK the software upgrade was ment to be done each time prior to parts being replaced but the revs of the car never went above 1k revs before taking off.

What is really the cause of concern for me is if this is damaging the clutch and flywheel.
