I have an ipod touch (2nd gen, updated to 4.0.1) that has just frozen on me. Went to turn it on this morning, apple logo came up but its been like that for hours now. Tried restarting it by holding on and home buttons but nothing happens except for every half hour or so it flashes white and goes back to the logo. Also tried connecting it to pc but again nothing happens. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? (btw, i dont mind if i have to restore it or anything)

Try this it worked for me before

1: PLUG YOUR IPOD INTO YOUR COMPUTER!!!

2: HOLD THE "HOLD" AND THE "MENU" BUTTON UNTIL THE TOUCH'S SCREEN GOES BLACK AND SHOWS THE APPLE LOGO AGAIN THEN RELEASE THE BUTTONS!!!

    3: WAIT ABOUT 5-15 MINUTES!!!

4: YOUR COMPUTER WILL MAKE A "CHIME" SOUND AND THEN THE IPOD WILL SHOW THE LOCKED SCREEN WITH THE BATTERY LOGO...

Well it didn't work for me! But this did, found it somewhere else on here, worked a treat!

1- shutdown your iphone with the hard reset "home button and power for 10 second"
2- connect the usb cable to the pc but NOT to the iphone"
    3- open itunes
4- while the iphone is off, press the home button for 5-10 seconds then plus the other end of the white connection cable into the iphone
5- do not remove your finger from the home button
6- itunes will detect it and you can now restore it
