    Hi

That post of by Lizgal has me thinking, probably wouldn't be able to do it for a while yet but could anyone recommend a longboard, I'm thinking of getting one shaped preferably.

I've not baught one myself but from what I've seen Glide do some lovely longboards if you're thinking of getting one shaped.

    Thanks for the replies

Glide, AOR in Kerry and Powersource are the ones that seem to have the most recommendations on the web too.

I thought about Ger Byrne in Aughris but not sure if he does private work or not?
    Will do Liz.

Where about you based Lizgal, or where do you surf most often?
It may be possible to see some boards in the flesh if you wished

It wouldn't hurt to give him a call he's a really nice guy. I think he only does ding repair now but you might be able to twist his arm. He shaped a board for me and also for a friend of mine, both truned out really well.

Both Ger and Glide ride longboards all the time so would be well able to point you in the right direction. You should also have a look at seven surfboards in kerry http://www.seven-surfboards.com Marcus is working with Mervin from Chapter longboards and he used to make the best traditional longboards in the country

    Nah, just ride them.

If you're up the NW, Sligo, there's about 3 that ya could inspect.
Alternatively, if you're around the Cork area give Paul / Glide a ring.

    087-7495680

He'll happily entertain you at his workshop and answer all your questions, silly or otherwise.
I've found that Paul generally offers great value with some great quality boards of late.
