Ski Repping - Whistler 2012/13

    Hi Guys,

Myself and a few friends are extremely interested in getting involved in repping for the 2012/13 season. Weve been visitors to most European countries and want to further our horizons to the likes of Whistler or Big white!

Can anyone tell me what ski providers offer holidays to these resorts? Ideally we would like to apply to somewhere based in Ireland or the UK and upon employment, travel to the resort for work; rather than travelling to the resorts in the hope of landing a job there for the season.

Any help at all is appreciated!!

    Thanks
    :D

I wouldn't limit yourself to repping, to be honest. Whistler is not like a European resort where your choices are either being a rep or a chalet host. I've been in Whistler for 10 months and I've never met anyone who does either of those jobs. There is a much wider range of jobs on offer here than a European resort and in my opinion most of them are better than sitting on a bus to and from the airport for x number of hours per week!

A lot of people work for Whistler-Blackcomb, who run all the on-mountain services. You get a free ski pass from them and staff accommodation if you want it. The jobs range from lift operator, food and beverage staff, ski/snowboard instructors, retail, rentals etc. They hold interviews in London in either August or September so it can be a good way to get a job sorted in advance.

As well as that there are lots of jobs with the shops, hotels, restaurants and activities around the village. If you get yourself to Whistler around the end of October you shouldn't have much of a problem getting work.

Hope this helps a little bit. Whistler is an incredible place so you will have a great time no matter what.

    Jamie
