Samsung Galxy S or HTC Desire S?

    Hey all,
So I'm considering the jump to billpay, and it looks like my best options for phones on the available deals are these two:

    Samsung Galxy S
    or
    HTC Desire S

Apparently both phones available for free, €35 a month for 18 months on O2, which sounds decent to me.

Thought I'd ask the advice of boardsies: Which is the better buy?
Any advice, pros or cons, experiences appreciated.

    Cheers
    DD

Both of those phones are already becoming dated (unless it's the galaxy s 2 you mean.) Why don't you go for a contract with a galaxy s 2 or htc sensation on a different network?

actually fail to see how these phones are dated (albeit the galaxy's poor build quality), still have my original desire and have no reason to consider upgrading

Ah don't me wrong, maybe dated is a strong word. I'm still using the original Desire as well and have absolutely zero reason to upgrade or even go down the bill pay road. In fact, using Leedroid pretty much makes it a Desire S and I love it. I'm just saying that if someone's gonna commit to a contract they might as well get one of the absolute best phones available at the moment.

Point taken on the SGS 2 being fancier.

Main reason I was thinking Desire S or SGS is because they're free on the contract.
But also because I think I'm somebody who would find the SGS2 or Sensation that bit too big to be carrying around in my pocket.

I don't have a great record with keeping phones protected, think the big screen might be a bit of a liability too.

So, from comments so far looks like yis reckon the Desire S out of those 2?

Zagato - it's 25o minutes, 250 texts, 250 MB a month for €35. Pretty sure it exists, unless the guy in the shop just made it up (possible)

I hope you're right but they want €99 for Galaxy S, and €149 for Desire S on they're website.

What he was saying was kind of correct in that they are available for free on contract, and there is a €35 contract (as you describe above), but it's just the 2 things don't happen together as far as I can make out:(

I was actually going to say as well, that 250mb may/may not be enough data for you.

About the bigger phones -you don't see too many people complaining about they're phones being too big here, in my experience you get used to it pretty quick
