    One of the weirdest insects in the world, the South East Asian Trilobite Beetle gets its name from its armored back that gives it a prehistoric appearance.
    It looks nothing like a beetle because its neotenic- that is, they retain their larval appearance their entire life, even after reaching sexual maturity.
    They are seldom seen (most often after heavy rainfall) and feed on rotten wood.
