Say you have a sign on your house to say concealed cctv cameras operate here

Garda is called by someone who claims concerns the cameras are pointing at their house

You say there are no cameras pointing at anyone house and I am making no further comment

Can Garda get search warrant to check or are you obliged to confirm where they may be.

    Apologies if this double posted.

Change the sign for one that reads something to put his mind at ease:)

"Concealed cctv cameras operate here, but offer no coverage of my neighbour"

They are unlikely to be interested. The Data Protection Comissioner may be.

Do you know if the garda have authority to come to a door when no complaint is made

    Of course they have.

However I very much doubt if they just go around knocking on doors without reason.

No. I said they dont go around knocking on peoples doors for no reason. Not all reasons are because they think the resident has done something wrong.

But I think you are now ...

They may be interested if they believe it covers another private residence or a public area.
