    Hi all!

Ok well basically I'll be going into a science degree next month and will need a laptop. Nothing needed for gaming or the like but I want something light and reliable that will be able to cope easily for my college life.

My budget would be circa 500 euro, might be able to push it more if I think it would be worthwhile.

    Thanks everyone!

It not the latest and greatest as it has first generation gen i3 processor (still a decent enough chip) but this is compact, light and has a decent battery life 7-8 hours.

    14" Acer Travelmate
    http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/Acer_TravelMate_Timeline_8372T_1017828.html

This is a (only fractionally) more powerful with a second gen i3, and a little lighter but slightly lower battery life and a little over budget at 530-535 after delivery

    13.3" Lennovo Z370

Some decent 15.6 inch models here, so not quite as light as the 13.3 or 14 inch laptops but worthy of consideration all the same

    Lennovo G570

    Toshiba Satelliete Pro C660-24L

Hey yeah that Lenovo looks decent for that price, what are saveonlaptops.co.uk like on postage to Ireland? I've heard good things about Lenovo is that true?

We have a 15.6'' here at home and imo its too heavy to be hauling up and down to Dublin.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

Just scanning through theses posts looking for info on laptops. This saveonlaptops website, many of you have any experience dealing with them, are they trustworthy?

In the clearance section with the open box laptops, do they have any warranty at all? packaging? or just bare laptop?...when they say slight scratching, would it be bad? In other words, would you buy one off them?

Any other website that you would get a good deal and service?
