Garmin Nuvi 760 Problem

Looking for a bit of advice guys,have'nt used my satnav for quite a while so the battery went dead.Needed it recently,tried charging it on the journey I needed it on,to no avail.It's stuck on the map update notice page/frozen,never updated my maps.It's several years old,well over the recommended one year map update!Tried…

Try to reset it by holding the on button for more than 8 seconds.
