    Any way to hard reset a Nokia phone without booting into OS?

    C6 C7 N8 would make perfect examples :)

    hold the power button for 8/9 seconds and it hard resets.dont know of any other way.
    Unless you have hacked it,see n8 mega thread

    :( had a c7 that restarted once it booted up. So couldn't access the dialer to do a hard reset.

    Was hoping there was a way of doing one with a button combo through bootloader

    Yes, there is..
    - Press Home button , Camera Button and Volume Button together
    - Press the Power Key until the phone vibrates
    - Release the Power Key but hold on to the rest of the keys till you see Nokia Connecting People logo .

    This brings it right back to the factory firmware. You'll lose any carrier applications, Ovi Store, the Qt libraries and some other stuff too. Best thing is to attach it to Ovi Suite and re-download PR1.2 (or wait until next week and put Anna on it from fresh).

    just hooked up my n8 an had a look,anna is out now:).
    op try to update the os now.
