    Hi Guys

Looking to buy my hubby a round of golf in a really nice course for his 30th. Any suggestions? Looking for somewhere in the Dublin, Kildare, Meath area.

    Thanks a mill ! :)

Killeen Castle is pretty cool if you're looking for somewhere special. Great course, but pricey.

Palmerstown (Old PGA National) is also a lovely course, good value too.

One of my favourite courses in Meath is Headfort (New course). This is also pretty good value.

    Hi,

Lots of the top courses have good deals now not only for golf but B & B.

    Druids Glen
    K Club
    Carton House

All Have good deals for a round of golf and B & B, if thats something you were looking for. Think you can get it for under 150euro but not sure.

Apart from that, if its golf only you want then most of the top courses are doing great deals on green fees now.

A thing to consider (maybe you have) is that a single green fee is nice but there's not a lot of point in paying for a round at an expensive course and then struggle to find anyone to play with. So maybe buy two (or a fourball) so he gets to take his mates/dad/you/whoever which is what he'll likely want to do.

I wouldn't be that familiar with that area but Palmerstown and Headfort would both be more than acceptable and should be available at decent value :)

    Hi OP,

Thats a nice idea for a gift and will be much appreciated im sure.
Where abouts are you living by the way? Also, is he a member anywhere? Do you know what courses he currently plays? Do you ever hear him mention a course that he would really like to play? Sorry for all the questions, just with a bit more info we may be able to narrow it down for you.

Nice idea for a gift! I would recommend Portmarnock Links, Palmerstown, Powerscourt(north Wicklow), Knightsbrook(in Trim). The B&B idea is a good one too - lots of good offers. A bit further south in Wicklow is Macreddin - lovely course and right next to the Brooklodge hotel. Well worth a visit.

with regards to Headfort in Meath, you could make a proper day of it for him. Pretty sure they have a deal where you play the Old & New Course on the same day with a bit of food thrown in too

4 Ball in the Heritage would be a fantastic gift for himself and 3 mates. Should get this for maybe €140-160 or half that for 2 players

    Hi Guys

Thanks so much for all the great advice. Going to google the courses everyone has mentioned.

Thundercat, we live in Tyrrelstown, D. 15. He's not a club member but he's a member of a golf society. He's really getting into it so think I'm going to becomee a golf widower :)

    Thanks again !!
