Hi how would i go about disabling a 1998 1.6 petrol Toyota Avensis Immobiliser??
What happened was somebody tried to steal the car and damaged the igintion barrel and around where the key plugs in there was a plastic cover which was broking off and under it was coils of wire which must be linked to the immobiliser as the car will not start now. The key turns but the engine will not turn over. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks!

I expect you wont be getting any answers on open forum as to how to bypass immobiliser. Sounds like a problem with the pick-up coil. Probably not too expensive.

Hi yes i think it is that pick up coil that is the problem as its damaged.
Is that the correct name of it and would you be able to get a link to a place to buy that coil as i dont know much about cars. Thank you!

Its either the scrap dealer or the main dealer normally.

these are relatively cheap even brand new, sub 50 quid i should think, but even a second hand one should plug and play.
