    Hi all,
Myself, my mother and my sister are looking into going on a sun holiday around December or January. Cheap and cheerful is what we're after, and flying from Cork would great. We basically want somewhere warm and sunny that we can lie on the beach for a week :D.

Tenerife or something seems like the obvious one, but tbh it just reminds me of a leaving cert holiday type place  .

    Any ideas? :D

Can't imagine there'd be many leaving cert students in the Canaries in January tbh. Without looking toward Florida or Egypt I'm not sure there's much else on offer directly from Ireland, mid-winter, without spending big money on flights to get you as close to the equator as possible.

Canaries are a safe choice, remember both EI and FR flying direct from Dublin currently.

For the sun Canaries is your best bet - unless you are going further afield. We love Gran Canaria - quieter than the others. Maspaolmas is lovely - check out the green golf bungalows
