    Hi guys,

I've been wondering are there a lot of Mitsubishi Galant VR-4 in Ireland and is it easy to get one?

Maybe you should have this on the modified motors section. Those JDM cars are quite popular over there.

At best they are a niche JDM enthusiast car; I would imagine there is very few in the country

Contact a Japanese import specialist, they should know if there is any about for sale locally or indeed they can source them through the Japanese auctions

Always liked the Gen 8 VR-4 but never owned one.

According to the wiki page approx. 200 were officially imported to the UK at the very end of the production run, perhaps someone knows if any were sold new in Ireland?

Here's a clean looking grey import on pistonheads, I imagine you would have a hard time finding a clean one in Ireland.

Here's a thread on at least one nice one in Ireland, might be a good place to post looking for more info and advice.

    Here's a '98 Estate on DoneDeal asking €1,600.

    Thanks for the replies guys!
I found another one in Ireland (http://www.clubvr4.com/forum/showthread.php?58094-Galant-VR4-Type-S-(Ralliart)-2001-Dublin-Ireland) but sold already...
It seems there are much more estate cars of this type. I don't know why though. I would think that a powerful engine like this is more suitable for a saloon.

An odd thing to think/ odd mentality. A powerful engine is nice to have in any car. There are more saloons, but the estates were/are cheaper second hand, plus probably easier for a family man to justify etc, hence lots of subaru legacy turbo estates imported also, more practicality. Combination of fast car and somewhat practical car

I agree that a powerful engine is good for any car. But in the case of Galant VR-4 based on "for sale" offers it seems that the ratio of estate cars compared to saloons is at least 5:1 if not even more...
