Windows 7 Home Premium (Sony)

I just got a client in with HD failure on a laptop that's out of warranty. (I work in PC repair), and I've just acquired a new HD for her laptop. Problem is that I suspect that the Product Key is exclusive to the Sony version of Windows 7, so it will not work properly with an OEM dvd install.

The recovery partition is of course a no go as the HD is fried. I've trawled the nets looking for a LEGAL download of the iso but with no success.

Without doing anything remotely illegal, can anyone provide any helpful pointers? If there is any way of acquiring the Sony DVD installation, or does such a disc even exist to the public.

Any helpful comments would be appreciated.
