    Hi there,

Im getting married in August of next year and am looking for places that do good deals on sharp 3 piece suits. I would probably like to buy as opposed to rent them because Id like to get something I could wear again. Also, can anyone advise as to the situation with the groomsmen and best man. Does the groom pay for their suits or give them money towards them traditionally? I'm new to this obviously!

    Cheers!

You pretty much have to pay for them as youre expecting them to dress in a way that you want if you want everyone to wear the same. Rental may cost between 60-70 quid per suit. A similar hard wearing nice 3 piece to buy would cost 3-4 times that at least.
You can get cheaper obviously but quality may not be there.

go to a few rental shops, black tie, bests, suits you, get the prices of a suit you like, theyll have as many of the suits you want, pay the deposit, the groomsmen go in and get fitted a few weeks out from the date, you all go in the week before for final fitting and pay balance of payment, collect the suit/suits couple of days beforehand, drop them back within 4-5 days. no worries about dry cleaning or any damage, the suit shop looks after all that. Oh, and you get your shirt and cravat/tie from the shop as well included in the price. that would be extra if you had to buy.

Unless it was a black tie affair and it was a tux that you may possible use again if you think youll be going to more black tie affairs Im not sure of the practicality of buying a dress wedding suit, ie, how many more times will you use it? Ive never seen a regular guest at a wedding wearing one.
