    I have 2 questions really
    whats the best 223 ammo to use for foxes and is there any place that can free float the barrel and bed the rifle in ireland? or preferable in the munster area.

    Any quality ballistic tip 55gr round ie hornady,federal priemum ,sako ect...As for bedding and free floating ,Fergal White in Athlone (086)3260735.

    To add to Tomcats list, 40 grain Hornady, or 40 grain Federal Premiums work well too. Ballistic tips are the business.

    Was foxing with Clive a while back. Those 55gr Hornady soft point "practice" rounds were absolutely spanking on foxes. Great performance at short and long range. If you can get hold of the Norma stuff though, also worth a try I suspect. They haven't made dodgy ammo yet.

    That Hornaday "Training" ammo left a big hole in the fox I hit with them.

    Any of the balistic rounds are great for foxes.

    In fact when asked after 9 outa 10 foxes prefer balistic tips :D

    I got Edi Graef (ejg on here) to do a pillar and carbon fibre bedding job on my rifle and he made a nice job of it. He is in Kinsale, you might even buy a rifle stock off him altogether!

    is it an sps varmint? any hunting bullet thats accurate in your rifle will do fox all night long. been reading up about fergal white and its all good. im thinking about a semi custom 22 250 and he is the man im going to go to
