    Hi all,
Just received my spanky OM system 50mm f1.8. Long wait still for the OM - 4/3 adaptor. But i have a question. The lens is bayonet fit but ive seen some photos online of the lens with a different mount (Om lens also) and im concerned the adaptor may not work. Anybody shed any light on this please?

I've not seen a Zuiko OM mount lens without the OM mount. The Zuiko 50mm F1.8 OM mount lens is pretty standard.
ive seen some photos online of the lens with a different mount

Can you post a link to the photos?

the is an image similar to my lens. I think i must have misread a caption on an image or something. Because the other mount i saw didnt have the little extrusions, just larger flat sections. I think i may have made a booboo!

i have an official OM Zuiko > 4/3 adapter ring; you know you have to focus with the lens wide open, and then stop down to shoot?
i.e. the lens immediately stops down to the aperture selected, not just at exposure.

The chromey metal bit is the lens mount, straightforward bayonet. The inner black cylinder with the protrusions is most likely the the lens barrel. Focused at the lens' closest focusing distance that would probably be entirely contained within the body of the lens. It moves in and out as the lens is focused.
