Do we need a World War?

With the current global economies in meltdown
do we need a World War to eliminate large
    portions of populations globally?

It would cause global destruction but
on the other hand it would create
employment in a lot of areas!

    Any potential Adolfs out there?

War is a horrible thing. And if there is a world war 3. Its going to worse than before.

Some how tho, when you talk about the possibilties of war, and positive things .. some how I cant help but feel you also mean a war thats fought well away from where you are, and a war you aint involed in

Why are you asking this on an internet forum? What sort of people do you want to answer you? Do you get satisfaction from the suffering of others? Do humans being burned alive and their bodies being torn by metal in some very sick way please you?

we don't need world wars, we have genocide to keep things in order... tho i do think NATO and America needs its come uppins.

War isn't really effective at slowing global population growth. We've already had two major ones and there's still 7 billion of us running around the place.

    +1

    What we really need is a good pestilence . . . . . . . .

I think WW3 should be more of a selective irradiation of certain individuals testicles.

There's always full employment during great wars! It's sounds like a great idea OP. Finally, a solution to the country's unemployment - WAR!!

The next world war won't be fought on land, sea, air or even space.
It'll be fought on a games console.

Yes we need a World War but we need to be fighting against space aliens, not ourselves, at least according to Nobel prize winner Paul Krugman!!

With how frequent some of these threads turn to America bashing, I am really beginning to think that some of you are suffering from "inferiority" complexes. Hey! It worked for Napoleon.

If by World War, you mean French civil war, then yes.

    Relax Frenchies, I'm joking.

It's not a good idea.Although the life is tough for the depress economy and large population,it is better than world war.

Are we not parasites on this beautiful planet.

    Really.

What good have we ever done here.

    Nothing.

We suck out the life of the world till its oilless barron end. And take 1000s of unknowing species with it.

The world would be a better place, and last a whole lot longer with less people.

Nothing wrong with a bitta war every now and again. For the craic like.

Of course we do and we'll get it sooner than we expect.

To the economic meltdown I'd also add deterioration of the family, collapse of moral values, fkin celebrity culture and extreme poverty the majority of the population lives in.

Paris fukin Hilton gets millions for talking utter bollix and smiling to the public while the same day thousands of people die from starvation, lack of fresh water or easily cured diseases. All this crap has to collapse and it will.

    The pyramids at Giza
    The temple at Angkor Wat
    The artwork of Van Gogh
    The artwork of Salvador Dali
    The poetry of WB Yeats
    The plays of Shakespeare
    The complete works of Beethoven
The complete works of Led Zeppelin
The complete works of The Beatles
    ......
and so on, and so on

Without intelligent witness who would be left to know or care?

Actually if it went to a "proper" war they still would.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

With the war on terror nearly won, and I am sure everyone agrees it has led to a more peaceful and safe world where the normal civilian can walk down the street without the fear of WMDs or IRDs ( except in the middle east and alot of Africa and a few spots in Asia and maybe Mexcio and a few areas of South America ) then I dont see the need for a World War.
All these people need is to be educated in Christian values, to respect each other and have good morals, especially where the lure of Oil is, because as it says in the scriptures somewhere, "eat with one hand so the other can share"

    Ireland should start a war.

We should invade a country with a nicer climate and kick out the natives.

    Who's with me????

Absolutely not. Humanity doesn't ever "need" a World War. It's an abhorrent "need".
With the war on terror nearly won

    Debatable, at least.
