Thinking of buying barley of the combine. Anyone know the price at the moment was quoated e170 tonne. Was hoping to get it at around 20% moisture and roll and treat with acid. Never done this before, how much acid per tonne and, what is the cost of the acid. I only ever bought dried barley before and rolled it as i needed.
I'm in the north west no grain in our part any potential sellers here an boards.
    Any info welcome.

€170 a tonne delivered up there would be a good price I think.

Treating with acid for preservation is well proven, loads of merchants around here would store grain for rolling that way, you have the choice of storing rolled or whole grain and can pick which suits you best.

I have no idea of price but you should be able to get all the info you need re rates here (PDF). The rate depends on the initial moisture and how long the storage period will be.

All our barley is gone, but it shouldn't be hard to find someone with barley for sale.
