    Hey all,

Just need your help with something!

I am getting married in Oct in Dublin city centre - and I am thinking about goin to brown thomas to get my make up done at one of the make up counters - mac or dior..... Just wondering what you thought of the idea!

I wanted a mac make up artist to come to hotel but the call out charge is €100 so i was thinkin - why not just head up to BT's as ill only be around teh corner..

    cheers,
    j x

That's fine. Only thing is what if the make-up you get done on the day is not how you'd like it? Most brides get a trial done before the wedding. I guess if you have a picture of the make-up style you want, they shouldn't really veer too much away from it.

I would do the call out. What if you become under time pressure and they are hurrying you out? You only get at most an hour at the counter. You want something specific to you. You also want to do a trial first. This is how you are going to look in every photo you see of your wedding so it's important to get it right.

Just pay for the call out. There's too much that can go wrong just calling into the counter.

I would def go with dior for this, mac is a conveyor belt/peter mark of makeovers. At least with dior being a high end brand they provide a certain level of service. I'd imagine they would allow you to do a trial and then pop along that morning but i would ring first to check that they will be ale to offer you that exact time

I would go for a trial run first. I don't know about everybody else, but I find Mac can be a bit heavy on the make up.

This is your wedding and you want to make sure you are happy with your make up. I would advise ringing around and explaining that you would like a trial, or even a consultation prior to the actual event. At the very least, you should be able to go in and talk to various people about what you want and then you could arrange an appointment with the person you feel the most comfortable with. Definitely don't arrange an an appointment with anybody without talking to them about what you want first!!!
