Golf Newbie - Buying Clubs

    Hi all,

As the title states, looking to get a set of clubs in the next few days, have an old set of horrible things and rarely use them, mostly played Pitch and Putt throughout the years, so my short game is good. Looking for forgiving irons and a good driver, looking at the Callaway x-18's or x-14's but I don't know enough about golf to know if they're any good. I don't even have a handicap as I very rarely play golf, but I'd imagine it would be 18-20.

Looking at buying second hand for no more than €300, 4-pw a driver and a recovery club would do I think, putter not that important yet I have a few at home. Can always upgrade to a new set once I have gotten decent at the game.

So, any experts out there like to suggest a set of clubs for me, I'd greatly appreciate any feedback as I am dying to get onto the range and then onto the course!

Good clubs for someone of your standard would be the King Cobra S9, Mizuno MX 100, Ping G15, Callaway Diablo Edge, Cobra S3 Max, Nike Machspeed, TaylorMade Burners, Wilson Di11....I could go on....tons of good quality forgiving stuff out there...
Should be able to pick them up second hand for your budget (the Pings may be more expensive)...
try to hit some at a driving range...pick what feels best...

Might be worth going through the Ping web static fit to see if you should be looking for something with a longer shaft, a little upright/flat etc.
