Thin Hair

    Hey,

I've noticed lately that my hair has become thin, it used to be thick and have some volume to it.

I don't dye it, don't use hair straighteners often, I wash it every two days as it gets very greasy so has to be washed, I let it dry naturally, but if it's not 100% dry before I go to bed then I use the hair dryer on the 'middle' setting to the heat isn't too hot or cold. The only products I use on it are shampoo & conditioner, nothing else.

My hairdresser recommend Sebastian products (not for thickening, but he said they are lightweight and would help with the greasiness) and after looking at Sebastian products online they have a thickening shampoo and conditioner, would they be any good? Would they actually work?

Is there anyway to thicken my hair? I don't want it to be extremely thick, but thicker than it is now.

I don't know about products, but have a look at your diet. More iron and protein should help.

I definitely agree about checking your diet. My sister had a similar problem and she actually went to our GP about it, he said her diet was the problem. The GP told her to take Pharmaton, to take her 5 a day of fruit and veg and to ensure she was getting enough vitamins and minerals. Also he advised her to use the shampoo and conditioner 'Yes to Carrotts'-her hair is so thick, strong and shiny now!

I am also having this problem, Thought it was the pill but turns out it isn't. (I went to my GP about it)I lost over 2 stone lately so its prob nutritional. I got blood tests done though and they were perfect. My doctor thinks it's a small problem which annoys me because my hair is falling out everyday and I can't stop it!! I'm been taking vitamin supplements for the last month and cod liver oil, I'm making sure I have my 5 a day plus nuts, fish etc. I don't know what else to do! Anyone else have any tips?

Try taking the Kerastase capsules, I had a similar problem and after 2-3 months of taking these I noticed a huge difference in my hair. So much stronger and thicker. They are a little bit pricy but I dont mind paying it because they work.

Temporarily, you could consider putting in a semi - it makes my hair much thicker and actually manageable. I use the garnier herbashine

I had a similar problem and as it turns out it was the pill that caused my problem. No doctor ever suggested it might be so had unnecessarily thin hair for years! You could try the vitamins which help hair, skin & nails (B complex, zinc, E) - they won't work immediately but you will get a result within a couple of months.
