Hey do you guys recommend a good and preferably cheap intervalometer for doing time lapses that would work on a Canon 600D?

I've been wanting to do timelapses for a long time but never got to doing them. Now that I've sold my 1000D and am getting my 600D, I'll be doing a lot more time lapse and video work...

So if ye guys know any good ones, cheers!!

I posted earlier about a battery grip for the 5DmkII that has a built in intervalometer. Looks like there's a version for the 600D as well:

Seems like a reasonable price considering that you're getting a wireless remote shutter and battery grip as well all in one.

i have this one, which after a bit of research seemed to be the best generic cheapie. linkdelight was the cheapest price i could find. some reviews advise taking the battery out when you're not using it, to prolong battery life.

advantages are if you decide to sell it at any stage you can stick these generic cheapies on adverts and charge 3 times the price, like a few peeps have been doing on adverts recently

That looks pretty cool. Does it come with batteries or you've gotta buy your own?

You'd have to buy them yourself, but you can get third party batteries fairly cheap these days.

Hahnel do a wireless remote that allows timelapse, excellent quality and will last you a long time (unlike some of the cheapy versions) cost about €60 but well worth it.

i have this one too, more wanted it simply as a remote trigger through wireless like i had with my last camera but decided to get this.
Artyeva... have you found out how to turn it off yet ! couldnt figure it out when i was looking at it so ive been carrying the battery around in my wallet ever since :)
I picked up a cheap €5 remote for 600d that just is the remote control on its own aswell (didnt get it to work when i looked at it quickly during the week mind you)

    heh...
Just checked where i got it. Got it from the same seller but he is doing free delivery but the cost of the item is like 50c more ! :) typical :)

hehe, no. i don't think it has an off button. hence the advice i found about removing the battery.i wonder how long i'll be able to keep it safe though... probably not very long :)

as for extra batteries, two came free with the grip i bought - again on flea-bay. most [if not ALL] generic grips are made by the same factory and just rebranded so one selling for €50 is exactly the same as the next seller on e-bay selling it for €100*, same with batteries*

*don't take this as gospel, just my observation
