It would very much depend on why ye broke up in the first place. Was is cos of logistics or did things go to ruin.

Not sure what advice to give until thats laid out!

I know a couple who were married and got divorced but got back together after about 3/4 years and are very very happy.

My husband and I broke up and dated other people for a while before we got married - 2 children later and we are still head over heels in love - go for it OP!

My ex and I broke up for about 15 yEars and stayed friends but not in huge contact in between. We are now back together, v v happy and having our first baby.

The issues before were distance and we always liked each other but I have never been as happy. It can of course work.

After posting I looked at a song that I played nearly on loop when my husband and I were apart (Leave right now - Will Young) - I know that I would have regretted if I had not tried to get back with him - I love my husband and for us our issues were that we did not listen to one another enough. Yes, you could get hurt but surely of you do not try you will get hurt even more?
